Step 1: Main Selection

Results of the Periodic Assessment of Research, Development, Artistic and Other Creative Activities VER 2026 (Verification of Excellence in Research) provide a comprehensive overview of the quality of creative activities at Slovak public universities and public research institutions. These activities were assessed by independent international experts through a peer-review process across 28 research areas.

For the first time in the history of the Slovak Republic, case studies were included in the periodic assessment, through which research was evaluated in terms of its societal impact and contribution. At the same time, the quality of the institutional research environment enabling the conduct of scientific, artistic, and other creative activities was also assessed.

The assessment results consist of three partial quality profiles according to the assessed domains, and one overall quality profile of the assessed workplace unit, derived from their weighted value (outputs, social impact case studies, creative environment). To explore these results, select QUALITY PROFILES option below.

By selecting SOCIAL IMPACT CASE STUDIES, you can access a database of all evaluated case studies documenting the contribution of research to society.

Additional details about the evaluation process are available under the MORE INFORMATION ABOUT VER button, while the final reports on the quality of science, research and creative activities in the assessed research areas, prepared by international experts, can be accessed under the STATE OF RESEARCH AND ARTS button. You can return to the main page at any time by clicking the VER2026 logo.

Select the criteria by which you want to display the results.

Applications were submitted by 20 public universities and 45 public research institutions, either for the institution or for its units.
Applications were submitted in 28 research areas, such as physical sciences, media and communications, and languages and literature.
The research areas are classified into seven main research groups, such as technical sciences, medicine, and art and theory of art.
For each case study, applicants identified the primary type of social impact, although the impact may have extended across multiple spheres.
