Research Area
The research area was one of 28 areas in which it was possible to apply for the Periodic Assessment. For each research area, an international body of evaluators (Sub-panel) was appointed by the Council for the Periodic Assessment of Research, Development, Artistic and Other Creative Activities to assess the applications in the given scientific or artistic area.
At the same time, the Council for the Periodic Assessment appointed members of the bodies for each Main research groups (Panels). These panels supervised the work of the Research Area sub-panels, oversaw the assessment process, and ensured the consistent application of qualitative criteria in the evaluation of applications submitted within each research area.
Example: The Panel for the Natural Sciences oversaw the work of the sub-panels assessing outputs in the fields of Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematics, Biological Sciences, Earth Sciences, and Environmental and Ecological Sciences.
The activities of the Panels and Sub-panels took place between October 2025 and end of March 2026.
