Social Impact Quality Profile
Social Impact Quality Profile
The outcome of the assessment and the expression of the qualitative level of research, development, artistic and other creative activity of a public higher education institution or a public research institution, or its constituent part, in the selected research area consists of three partial quality profiles for the individual assessment domains and one overall quality profile of the unit, determined as a weighted value of the assessment domains (outputs – social impact – creative environment).
The number of social impact case studies submitted within an application for assessment depended on the number of the applicant’s employees included in the relevant application:
- 5 to 49 employees – 1 social impact case study
- 50 to 99 employees – 2 social impact case studies
- 100 or more employees – 3 social impact case studies
Each social impact case study was assessed across four aspects:
- Application potential of underpinning research
- Degree of social impact
- Link between underpinning research and social impact
- Quality of evidence of social impact
Each aspect was assigned an assessment according to one of the following quality levels:
- Excellent
- Very good
- Good
- Satisfactory
- Unsatisfactory
Example: An application for assessment containing two social impact case studies was assessed by the Sub-panel for the relevant research area. Each case study was assessed across four aspects, resulting in a total of eight ratings. Based on the assessment of the individual aspects, the results were distributed as follows:
1 aspect was assigned to the level of excellent quality,
2 aspects were assigned to the level of very good quality,
3 aspects were assigned to the level of good quality,
1 aspect was assigned to the level of satisfactory quality,
1 aspect was assigned to the level of unsatisfactory quality.
The quality profile of social impact for this application can be expressed in percentage terms in the following format:
| Assessment | Number of Aspects | Quality Profile |
| 1 – Excellent | 1 | 12,5% |
| 2 – Very good | 2 | 25% |
| 3 – Good | 3 | 37,5% |
| 4 – Satisfactory | 1 | 12,5% |
| 5 – Unsatisfactory | 1 | 12,5% |
The assessment of individual aspects of the social impact is not published.
Note: Percentages in the quality profile graphs are shown to two decimal places (values are truncated, not rounded). As a result, the total may not equal exactly 100% and can differ slightly (e.g., 100.01% or 99.99%).
